It was a cold and rainy day and I found myself offering to help with a park upliftment project at Durban Road park in Mowbray. After a storm had knocked over a massive old pine tree, the community saw an oppotunity to turn the beast of a tree into a work art for the children to play on, we decided to get creative and recycle a few branches into something unique —a playful wooden train for the kids! With a bit of imagination and elbow grease, Now, the kids have a new spot to climb, play, and let their imaginations run wild, all thanks to a tree that once weathered a storm.
